About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Advocate Aurora Health. As a key member of our Physiatry department, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the success of our team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Utilize the nursing process to deliver ongoing care, prioritizing patient needs and responding to changes in their status.
  • Provide triage and consultation to patients, families, and significant others, adhering to protocol and organizational guidelines.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians and other healthcare team members, documenting and sharing accurate and timely information regarding patient conditions.
  • Prepare and room patients for exams, obtaining vital signs and updating pertinent health information.
  • Perform laboratory procedures, assist with procedures and surgeries, and administer medications under physician/provider orders.
  • Assess and provide patient education, counseling, and health promotion, integrating preventive aspects of care.
  • Perform advanced clinical tasks and skills, such as removal of sutures and staples, catheterization, and laboratory procedures, with demonstrated competency and under clinical supervision.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of staff orientation, competency, and educational activities, serving as an expert clinical and department resource.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse license issued by the state in which you practice.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification issued by the American Heart Association (AHA), obtained within 6 months.
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing.
  • No experience required.
