We are seeking a highly skilled Physician Assistant to join our team at Advocate Health. The ideal candidate will have a strong clinical background and excellent communication skills.
Key Responsibilities- Evaluate and manage patient care in both outpatient and inpatient settings.
- Conduct physical examinations, obtain medical histories, and determine differential diagnoses.
- Prescribe medication, therapy, and treatments as necessary.
- Interpret and evaluate patient data to determine management and treatment plans.
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive patient care.
- Develop and implement patient care plans, including routine procedures and minor surgeries.
- Provide education and counseling to patients on physical and mental health, including diet, preventive health measures, and health behaviors.
- Manage and coordinate care across multiple settings, including ancillary services, pre-operative plans, and discharge planning.
- Master's degree in Nursing or Physician Assistant Studies.
- Current licensure as a Registered Nurse and Advanced Practice Nurse Prescriber.
- Current certification as a Physician Assistant (PA-C) or Nurse Practitioner (ANCC or AANP).
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
- Ability to work independently and as an effective member of a healthcare team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proven organizational and prioritization skills.
The ideal candidate will be able to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and twist continuously throughout the workday. Must have functional speech, vision, touch, and hearing. Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist, lift up to 20 lbs over the head, and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance. Must be able to push/pull with 30 lbs of force and perform a sliding transfer of 150 lbs with a second person present.
Will be exposed to mechanical, electrical, chemical, and radiation hazards, as well as blood and body fluids. Must wear protective clothing and equipment as necessary.
