Position Overview:
The Commonwealth of Virginia is seeking multiple Research Scientists to engage in innovative research within the Department of Surgery. The focus of this role will be to collaborate with a multidisciplinary team led by esteemed researchers in the fields of vascular biology, biomedical engineering, and nanotechnology.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Research Development: Contribute to the planning, design, execution, and management of laboratory projects aimed at addressing vascular diseases and related conditions. This includes designing and conducting complex experiments, analyzing data, and refining research methodologies.
  • Data Presentation: Prepare and present research findings at various scientific meetings and conferences. Additionally, assist in the preparation of manuscripts for publication in reputable scientific journals and support grant application processes.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with undergraduate, graduate, and medical students, as well as other research staff, to ensure effective laboratory operations and project execution.

Qualifications:
Candidates must possess a Doctoral degree (MD, DO, or PhD) in relevant fields such as Cell Biology, Physiology, Pharmacology, or Biomedical Engineering. A strong background in vascular biology and experience with advanced laboratory techniques are essential. Evidence of scholarly work, including publications and presentations, is highly desirable.
