We are currently seeking a Nurse Practitioner for a PRN position at our Jeanerette Rural Health Clinic (JRHC). The Nurse Practitioner will utilize the nursing process to engage effectively with patients and collaborate with healthcare team members, upholding the standards of Advanced Nurse Practice. In this role, the Nurse Practitioner will oversee clinic operations, including personnel management, budget oversight, and general administrative duties. Under indirect supervision, this position will provide independent primary care to a specific population of non-emergency patients and offer consultation as a family nurse practitioner.
EDUCATION/LICENSURE/CERTIFICATION:
- Master's degree from an accredited School of Nursing.
- Valid APRN license to practice in the State of Louisiana.
- Current national certification from a recognized organization by the Louisiana State Board of Nursing.
- Up-to-date CPR Certification required prior to assuming the role.
- Preferred experience in an outpatient, primary care environment.
- Experience in nursing management is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Conducts medical assessments, diagnoses, treatment plans, follow-ups, consultations, and health education.
- Gathers patient histories and develops comprehensive care charts, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
- Provides health education to individuals, families, and community health practitioners within the specialty area.
- Supervises and coordinates the activities of patient care and support staff.
- May engage in program planning and the development of health policies and procedures.
- Implements safety, environmental, and infection control protocols.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
- Continuously makes informed decisions on complex issues while delivering patient care and managing clinic operations.
- Maintains accurate, confidential medical records, documenting all evaluations, diagnoses, treatments, outcomes, education, referrals, and consultations in accordance with NCQA and JCAHO standards.
- Integrates new knowledge from professional development into clinical practice.
- Collaborates with medical staff, facilitating consultation and referral processes.
