Key Responsibilities
  • Provides therapeutic recreation services to patients, including leisure assessment, treatment intervention, and discharge planning.
  • Maintains therapeutic recreation activity area, equipment, and supply inventory as needed.
  • Prepares and maintains accurate patient records, including evaluations, progress notes, treatment plans, patient education, discharge summaries, and billing.
  • Confers with other staff therapists, physicians, and related personnel regarding patient progress as needed.
Requirements
  • Graduate of a school of Therapeutic Recreation with possession of a Bachelor's or Master's degree from an accredited college or university.
  • CPR Certification required. Certified and/or registered by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Specialist (NCTRS).
  • Minimum of one-year work experience in a hospital setting is strongly preferred.
