Job Title: Licensed Clinical Social Worker

UT Health San Antonio is seeking a highly skilled Licensed Clinical Social Worker to join our team in providing high-quality, short-term, evidence-based clinical, therapeutic, and consultative services via telehealth to prevent, assess, evaluate, and treat mental, emotional, or behavioral disorders in child and adolescent patients and their family members in TCHATT (Texas Child Health Access Through Telemedicine).

Responsibilities:
  • Provides individual, couples, and/or family therapy to improve mental health, resiliency, and coping skills.
  • Creates individualized treatment plans according to each patient's unique needs and circumstances.
  • Reviews progress towards goals and adjusts treatment plan as agreed upon by the patient.
  • Provides professional skills and advanced social services to families in need of rapid access to care.
  • Performs administrative duties, extended social work program development, and outreach as assigned.
  • Performs counseling, evaluation, treatment, and plan, using evidence-based practices.
  • Assures continuity of care, conveys assessment findings, and implements therapeutic plans.
  • Completes documentation and safety plans according to program policies and prepares reports and other documentation in accordance with good clinical practice and institutional standards.
  • Performs clinical case management services, referrals, education on social services and public systems; assists patients in finding resources.
  • Collaborates with multidisciplinary team and participates in case consultation to provide comprehensive care and coordinates with family members as needed to engage patient in care.
  • Identifies obstacles to optimal patient care; loss or grief work; risk reduction; and health promotion.
  • Performs crisis interventions as needed.
  • Facilitates or leads therapeutic and support groups for patients and caregivers.
  • Formulates candid and supportive communication.
  • Facilitates effective problem solving and conflict resolution.
Qualifications:
  • Ability to independently conduct psycho-social assessments and provide treatment to a wide variety of individuals from various socioeconomic, cultural, ethnic, educational, and other diverse backgrounds.
  • Knowledge and experience in the use of medical and mental health diagnoses, disabilities, and treatment procedures.
  • Independent judgment and skill in utilizing supportive, problem-solving, or crisis intervention techniques.
  • Experience using MS Office (Word, Excel, etc.) and data management software.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbally and written; bilingual (Spanish/English) preferred.
  • Ability to maintain strict protocols of all confidential or sensitive information.

Education: Master's degree is required. Experience cannot be substituted for degree.

Experience: Prior experience as a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) required.

License and Certification: TX state clinical license (LCSW) is required.
