Job Title: Licensed Clinical Social Worker

The Center for Legal and Social Justice (CLSJ) at St. Mary's University is seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Licensed Clinical Social Worker to provide social work services for the St. Mary's University School of Law Clinical Program.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide trauma-informed needs assessments and referrals, assist in scheduling appointments, and offer advocacy and accompaniment resources and services.
  • Counsel adult immigrant individuals and families for mental health needs, including anxiety, depression, homesickness, loneliness, isolation, and trauma-related conditions.
  • Maintain an ongoing caseload of clients with exceptional needs, including safety planning and post-release plans.
  • Liaise with social service providers to develop relationships and facilitate access to social services.
  • Provide clients with information, coordination, and referrals to address various needs, including safety planning, housing, translation, protection orders, health services, counseling, education, employment, family law, and public benefits.
Qualifications:
  • Master of Social Work degree from an accredited university.
  • Licensure in the state of Texas as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW).
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish with the ability to read, write, and communicate verbally in both languages.
  • Experience in working with immigrant populations and familiarity with immigration law and policy.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to organize information in a clear and concise manner.
  • High level of personal integrity, excellent interpersonal skills, and a strong sense of confidentiality.
Working Conditions:

The Licensed Clinical Social Worker will work in an office environment and university campus setting, with regular requirements to sit, walk, and stand, talk and hear, and use hands to operate standard office equipment.
