Job Summary

The Resource Nurse plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care by providing guidance, feedback, and mentoring to new graduate nurses and/or nurses transitioning to a new specialty.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform regular rounds on each nursing unit to assess the quality of patient care.
  • Identify nursing educational needs and provide targeted support to ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
  • Escalate concerns regarding nursing skills, patient care, policies, processes, and equipment as necessary.
  • Ensure nurses within the scope of support have a clear understanding of how to integrate patient experience into nursing practice.
Requirements
  • Current licensure in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse (RN) or current multi-state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
  • Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR.
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) verification course through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR within 90 days of hire.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Neonate Resuscitation verification course.
  • NIH Stroke Scale Certification.
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Required Education or Experience.
  • Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
  • 2+ years' experience as a RN.
  • 1+ years' experience in a leadership role.
  • 1+ years of experience as a preceptor.
