The Resource Nurse plays a vital role in ensuring high-quality, patient-centered care by providing guidance, feedback, and mentoring to new graduate nurses and/or nurses transitioning to a new specialty.
Key Responsibilities- Perform regular rounds on each nursing unit to assess the quality of patient care.
- Identify nursing educational needs and provide targeted support to ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures.
- Escalate concerns regarding nursing skills, patient care, policies, processes, and equipment as necessary.
- Ensure nurses within the scope of support have a clear understanding of how to integrate patient experience into nursing practice.
- Current licensure in the State of Kansas as a Registered Nurse (RN) or current multi-state licensure as a Registered Nurse.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) verification course through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR.
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) verification course through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross - Healthcare Provider CPR within 90 days of hire.
- Neonate Resuscitation verification course.
- NIH Stroke Scale Certification.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Required Education or Experience.
- Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing.
- 2+ years' experience as a RN.
- 1+ years' experience in a leadership role.
- 1+ years of experience as a preceptor.
