Olympic College is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill a part-time Security Officer position. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff on our campuses.

Key Responsibilities

  • Patrol and inspect assigned areas of buildings and grounds to prevent and respond to security incidents.
  • Lock doors and windows, and report needed repairs and safety hazards to the proper authorities.
  • Activate security alarm systems and receive, check, and sign for registered mail and other deliveries made after normal working hours.
  • Provide escort services and directions to visitors and students as needed.
  • Perform first aid and other related duties as required.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Valid, unrestricted state driver's license required.
  • Ability to lift, move, and relocate items weighing up to 30 pounds.
  • Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
  • Successful completion of a criminal history background check with no previous felony convictions.

Preferred Qualifications

  • One year of full-time equivalent experience in related areas of work, such as security, law enforcement, or military service.
  • Certificate of completion in a basic law enforcement training program.
  • Coursework or previous training in criminal justice, homeland security, or related fields.

Working Conditions

  • This position requires punctual and regular attendance.
  • This job requires a lot of outside activities in various weather conditions and interpersonal contact with a wide range of people.
  • Must be able to cover shifts on multiple campuses.
