Job Summary
Olympic College is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to fill a part-time Security Officer position. As a Security Officer, you will play a critical role in maintaining a safe and secure environment for students, faculty, and staff on our campuses.
Key Responsibilities
- Patrol and inspect assigned areas of buildings and grounds to prevent and respond to security incidents.
- Lock doors and windows, and report needed repairs and safety hazards to the proper authorities.
- Activate security alarm systems and receive, check, and sign for registered mail and other deliveries made after normal working hours.
- Provide escort services and directions to visitors and students as needed.
- Perform first aid and other related duties as required.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid, unrestricted state driver's license required.
- Ability to lift, move, and relocate items weighing up to 30 pounds.
- Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Office applications.
- Successful completion of a criminal history background check with no previous felony convictions.
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of full-time equivalent experience in related areas of work, such as security, law enforcement, or military service.
- Certificate of completion in a basic law enforcement training program.
- Coursework or previous training in criminal justice, homeland security, or related fields.
Working Conditions
- This position requires punctual and regular attendance.
- This job requires a lot of outside activities in various weather conditions and interpersonal contact with a wide range of people.
- Must be able to cover shifts on multiple campuses.
