Job Summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated professional to fill the role of Healthcare Manager. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our nursing units, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care and optimal outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage daily unit activities to ensure high-quality patient care and optimal outcomes.
  • Communicate effectively with physicians, social work, and other department staff to promote integrated, effective care.
  • Serve as a patient advocate, following up on patient care issues and outcomes, and overseeing discharge support.
  • Document and supervise unit/patient information, including charts, surveys, reports, research, correspondence, statistics, and quarterly reports.
  • Select, train, supervise, motivate, and evaluate assigned staff.
  • Assess patient needs and staff capabilities, scheduling staff to ensure maximum utilization of individual and group capabilities.
  • Ensure assigned staff receive opportunities to further their knowledge and skills.
  • Serve as a role model and resource, providing guidance and support to staff members.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (or higher).
  • Four years of professional nursing experience.
  • Current, valid RN license from the Texas Board of Nursing (or valid Compact RN license).
  • Current healthcare provider CPR course completion card from a recognized organization.
  • Advanced Life Support (ALS) or Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
  • Trauma Nurse Core Curriculum (TNCC) or Advanced Trauma Care for Nurses (ATCN) certification.
  • Certified Emergency Nurse (CEN) or Critical Care Registered Nurse (CCRN) certification.
  • SAMA certification, levels 1-4.
  • Intermediate Electronic Fetal Monitoring Training from AWHONN.
