Aerospace Component Assembler – Non-Exempt

The Precision Components division is currently in search of an Assembler who will be responsible for the assembly of aircraft component parts. This role involves following detailed operation sheets and blueprints while utilizing a range of hand tools and machinery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assemble intricate aerospace components with precision.
- Conduct inspections to ensure quality standards are met.
- Utilize measuring tools such as micrometers and calipers to confirm compliance with blueprint tolerances.
- Prepare parts through filing and buffing to achieve the desired fit.
- Perform drilling, tapping, reaming, and countersinking operations using a Bridgeport machine.
- Align and position parts accurately.
- Secure components together using bolts, screws, and rivets.
- Disassemble and replace parts as necessary.
- Maintain cleanliness and lubrication of parts and assemblies.
- Mark parts with identifying information as required.
- Lift and position components on machine tables or holding fixtures.
- Inspect pieces post-trial run to ensure adherence to specifications.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to receive instructions and coordinate tasks.
- Monitor and measure parts to maintain statistical process control.
- Assist fellow assemblers and staff to meet production and safety goals.
- Keep the work area organized and free from hazards.
- Participate in training initiatives as needed.
- Travel domestically as required (5-10%).
Additional Duties:
- Ensure compliance with safety and housekeeping standards.
- Perform other related tasks as directed by supervisors.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, push, pull, reach overhead, and bend.
- Must be capable of lifting, pushing, or pulling a minimum of 35 lbs.
- Regularly required to move about the facility.
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or GED, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.
- Completion of 2 to 4 years of vocational education, trade school, or apprenticeship is preferred.
