Key Responsibilities- Develop and Implement Food Safety and Quality Systems: Develop, implement, and maintain food safety and quality systems in accordance with GFSI standards.
- Lead the HACCP Program: Lead the HACCP program within the organization, ensuring all aspects are fully compliant with relevant regulations.
- Oversee Daily Operations: Oversee daily operations of the food quality assurance team, providing guidance and support as necessary.
- Conduct Regular Audits: Conduct regular audits of sanitation practices, food safety protocols, and quality assurance systems, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions as necessary.
- Liaise with Regulatory Bodies: Liaise with regulatory bodies to ensure compliance with all relevant food safety and quality standards.
- Collaborate with Production and Operations Teams: Collaborate with production and operations teams to resolve food safety and quality issues promptly.
- Drive Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the food safety and quality systems, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability.
- Provide Training and Education: Provide training and education to staff on food safety and quality assurance procedures and best practices.
- Manage Customer Complaints: Manage the investigation and resolution of customer complaints related to product quality and food safety.
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in a food safety and quality assurance role within the manufacturing industry.
- Certifications: Certified SQF Practitioner preferred.
- Skills: In-depth knowledge of GFSI Food Safety and Quality Systems, HACCP, and food manufacturing processes. Strong understanding of sanitation practices within a manufacturing environment. Proven leadership and team management skills. Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail. Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment. Strong written and verbal communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and quality management software. Willingness to stay updated with advancements in food safety and quality assurance best practices.
