Job Title: Senior Project Engineer Air Dominance

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) is a world leader in Unmanned Combat Air Vehicles (UCAV), autonomy, AI-solutions, defense technologies, and advanced sensing capabilities.

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Project Engineer Air Dominance to join our team in San Diego, CA. As a key member of our Agile Mission Systems (AMS) team, you will be responsible for leading Air Dominance combat solutions, providing end-to-end missionization, and closing complex kill chains.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams to innovate, design, integrate, test, qualify, and rapidly field advanced technologies and mission systems onto autonomous UCAV.
  • Leverage 4th or 5th Gen Fighter experience to form air-to-air tactics, maneuvers, engagements, and define doctrine for autonomous air dominance initiatives across multiple UCAV platforms.
  • Develop and integrate hardware and software with various engineering disciplines, including Mechanical, Electrical, RF, Cyber, Autonomy, AI/ML, and Software.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive selection of advanced technology, lead end-to-end mission systems architecture, and resolve complex kill chains.
  • Provide recommendations and trades on UCAV tactics to increase air dominance and successful mission outcomes.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience.
  • Former military fighter pilot or weapon systems officer with >1000 hrs in 4th or 5th Generation platform.
  • Proven ability to understand new concepts quickly and apply them in a dynamic work environment.
  • Direct Technical expertise and experience with more than one of the following: Link 16, TTNT, UHF, VHF, IFF-T/I, SATCOM, Starshield, LPI/LPD waveforms, Encrypted Comms, and Next-Generation data link communication networks.
