Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Air Vehicle Conceptual Design Engineer to join our team at General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI). As a key member of our Advanced Aircraft Programs, you will be responsible for applying innovative approaches to resolve complex engineering problems and contribute to the design and development of advanced air vehicles.

Key Responsibilities
  • Determine technical objectives for solution(s) to advanced technical engineering problems.
  • Independently perform difficult/complex engineering work with instructions as to the general expected results.
  • Design new air vehicles and modifications to improve existing air vehicles.
  • Develop analysis tools and perform mathematical modeling of air vehicles.
  • Identify and evaluate technologies which enable marketable new products.
Requirements
  • Typically requires a bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.
  • Experience working on aircraft development programs from conceptual design through flight test is desirable.
  • Expert user of MATLAB or Python, an optimization tool, and NX is desirable.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain DoD Security Clearance required.
