Medical Assistant Pediatric Float Pool Specialist

A Medical Assistant has accountability for providing care to patients in an ambulatory clinic setting. This involves caring for patients with acute and chronic needs. Responsibilities:- Performs basic clerical and office duties, including assembling necessary documents and supplies, effectively using computer applications, and scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring appointments.
- Maintains medical records and other information, and maintains inventory of supplies, ordering and restocking as needed to ensure availability for patient care.
- Accurately documents patient history, physical, and vital information into the medical record.
- Performs business and financial duties, including assigning procedural and diagnostic coding to encounter forms, conducting pre-authorizations and referrals, and facilitating timely billing.
- Performs clinical functions within acceptable standards of care, including prioritizing patient needs, recognizing and responding to emergency situations, and preparing and maintaining examination and treatment areas.
- Current Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) for healthcare providers.
- Successful completion of a Medical Assistant Program, or 1 year of Medical Assistant Experience, or current RN/LPN license.
- Preferred Qualifications: Current national MA certification from one of the following national MA certifications or registrations: Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) of AMT, National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA), Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA), or Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) of the AAMA.
This position will float between any of the 4 pediatric clinics in our Nevada area from as far as Centennial Hills to as far south as Henderson on any given scheduled day. There is a stipend offered for mileage.
