Key Responsibilities

The Systems Design and Architecture Engineer will:

  • Lead and manage cutting-edge technical projects, addressing intricate challenges and delivering impactful solutions that enhance business performance.
  • Oversee technical project management to meet specified objectives, guiding teams through complex development processes by:
    • Establishing requirements for next-generation optical modems and converting them into comprehensive technical specifications.
    • Designing system architecture while assessing enabling technologies for both hardware and software components.
    • Monitoring the development team's progress to ensure alignment with initial design concepts.
    • Creating detailed technical documentation to support product development and system requirements.
    • Engaging with industry partners and clients through technical presentations to grasp their needs effectively.
    • Facilitating communication between customer requirements, software development, and hardware capabilities.
    • Serving as a mentor and role model within the technical community of the organization.
Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering is required; a Master's degree is preferred.
  • Over 10 years of relevant experience with a focus on product definition and development, particularly in:
    • Coherent optical modem technologies.
    • Ethernet and OTN framing methodologies.
    • Optical network design principles.
    • System design methodologies pertaining to optical technologies.
  • A solid understanding of hardware and embedded software design principles.
  • Familiarity with optical coherent modem components such as ADC/DAC, DSP, and modulators.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of optical communications.
  • The flexibility to travel domestically or internationally as required.
