Are you ready to take on the role of a full-time Rail Systems Specialist in Long Island City, NY (Sunnyside Amtrak Facility)?

Your Future Responsibilities

Embrace a new challenge and leverage your engineering expertise in a pioneering field. You will report to Bradley Johnson (Maintenance Project Lead System Engineer) and collaborate with a team of exceptional, enthusiastic, and cooperative colleagues.

In this role, you will create significant value by applying your engineering skills to enhance performance and reliability from a maintenance perspective, particularly in next-generation high-speed rail transportation projects.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing technical aspects related to train design.
  • Evaluating system performance (Safety, Reliability, Serviceability, Future Obsolescence).
  • Managing all technical matters associated with maintenance.
  • Providing technical insights to the entire Maintenance Site organization.
About You

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related discipline.
  • Two years of experience in an engineering-related field.
  • Familiarity with railway systems is highly desirable.

Location and Travel Requirements
  • This is an on-site position based in Long Island City, NY (Sunnyside Yard Amtrak facility), with some flexibility for remote work.
  • Expected travel: approximately 20% of the time, particularly to other train maintenance facilities.
Annual Salary:

$85,000 - $120,000
