We are in search of a Group Exercise Manager to oversee our innovative Group Exercise program at our state-of-the-art fitness facility. As the Group Exercise Manager, your role will encompass:

  • Creating, implementing, and managing dynamic group fitness programs that inspire and motivate participants.
  • Recruiting and onboarding passionate, knowledgeable, and creative instructors to facilitate a diverse range of classes.
  • Conducting regular performance assessments and class evaluations of instructors to ensure high-quality delivery.
  • Encouraging ongoing professional development by informing staff about local educational opportunities and promoting group participation.
  • Representing Exos at fitness conferences and trade shows to network and attract new talent.
  • Organizing certification and continuing education workshops to foster professional growth among staff and expand the network of local instructors.
  • Providing specialized training programs for staff, such as choreography forums, to enhance teamwork and skill exchange.
  • Mentoring staff and members interested in teaching group exercise, preparing them for certification processes.
  • Securing master classes with renowned instructors and promoting additional fee-based group exercise programs to enhance revenue.
  • Developing a successful fee-based Pilates Reformer program, including instructor recruitment and scheduling.
  • Assisting in the creation and dissemination of marketing materials related to all Group Exercise and Pilates offerings.
  • Monitoring class attendance and providing monthly reports to the General Manager.
  • Being the representative face of the Group Exercise program by maintaining consistent communication with members, soliciting feedback, and responding to inquiries promptly.

Ideal Candidate Profile:

  • A minimum of one year of experience in leading successful group exercise classes.
  • At least two years of management experience.
  • Possession of a current nationally recognized group exercise certification (e.g., AFAA, ACE, ACSM, NETA).
  • Current CPR/AED certification.
  • Instructors teaching licensed or branded formats (e.g., Zumba) must be trained and licensed for those formats.
  • Current First Aid certification.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of modifying exercise programs for high-risk clients, along with a solid understanding of safe versus contraindicated exercises.
  • An outgoing personality with exceptional communication skills.
  • Outstanding customer service abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly in Excel and PowerPoint.
