Job Summary:

The Edw. C. Levy Group of Companies is seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to join our team in Calvert, AL. As a key member of our LETNA division, you will be responsible for performing routine inspections, maintenance, and repairs of all plant electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical components. This includes greasing, lubrication, and emergency repairs to ensure optimal plant availability.

Responsibilities:

Conduct regular inspections of equipment and lubricants, and perform repairs as necessary.
Identify problem areas and notify the shift foreman and maintenance manager to facilitate corrective action during weekly maintenance downtime.
Set work priorities in conjunction with the maintenance foreman and manager to maximize plant availability.
Perform maintenance activities under the direction of the maintenance foreman/manager.
Maintain accurate records of repairs and required maintenance issues.
Advise the maintenance manager of parts consumed or repaired, and order necessary parts via requisition form.
Rebuild/repair equipment removed from service, including key components such as scarfing torches, hydraulic pumps, and cylinders.
Maintain good housekeeping to ensure clean work areas, equipment, hydraulic/electrical systems, and plant facilities.
Participate in environmental cleanup and awareness initiatives.

Requirements:

Ability to troubleshoot hydraulic, mechanical, and electrical components on heavy equipment.
Ability to read and understand electrical and mechanical/hydraulic schematics.
Knowledge of DC-operated cranes is essential, with a focus on electrical, mechanical, and structural aspects.
Familiarity with safety procedures for working with electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic equipment, including high-voltage systems.
Understanding of all forms of hydraulics.
A minimum of 5 years of experience working in a heavy industrial environment.
