Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurse

Rowan University is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Psychiatric Nurse to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in psychiatric nursing and be able to work collaboratively with staff nurses, social workers, and physicians to provide high-quality patient care.
About the RoleThis position requires the ability to admit patients, make rounds, write orders for medication, diagnostic studies, devices, and consultations on the inpatient psychiatric unit or provide services to patients scheduled at contracted agencies. The successful candidate will be able to work independently and as part of a team to provide excellent patient care.
Responsibilities- Provide psychiatric evaluation, medication management, restraints, and staff consultation as required
- Document care including chart notes and completion of required/requested forms
- Provide additional coverage call for the Department's hospital contract
- Respond to calls by telephone within 15 minutes and respond to any direct service to patients within one hour
- Keep abreast of agency, hospital, and departmental policies and procedures
- Submit appropriate billing information
- One (1) year of experience as a practicing APN
- Unrestricted Licensed as an APN with the State of New Jersey with a current CDS and DEA
The salary for this position is commensurate with experience, estimated to be around $120,000 per year. Rowan University offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement plan, and paid time off.
