Job Title: Rehabilitation Counselor Supervisor

About the Role:

The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services is seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Counselor Supervisor to lead the Vocational Rehabilitation office and manage an active caseload. As a key member of the Disability Employment and Transitions Division, you will play a vital role in ensuring case management practices align with procedures, policy, and law.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Counsel clients on job and career development goals
  • Provide staff assistance with decision-making on difficult cases
  • Serve as a liaison between Vocational Rehabilitation and Blind Services and community partners
  • Work towards the full participation of individuals with disabilities in all aspects of society

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of psychosocial assessment, occupational placement, and vocational rehabilitation counseling
  • Knowledge of medical and psychiatric conditions in relation to the rehabilitation process
  • Knowledge of counseling theories, techniques, and applications
  • Effective written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to balance between literal adherence to rules and the use of policies as a guide

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • One year of experience in rehabilitation counseling, career counseling, or human services
  • Master's degree in rehabilitation counseling
  • Two years supervisory experience providing direction to counseling activities
  • Certification by the Commission on Rehabilitation Counselor Certification (CRCC) is highly preferred
