About the Role

Fishbeck, Thompson, Carr & Huber, Inc. (FTCH) is seeking a highly skilled Senior Civil Engineer/Project Manager to join our team in the Grand Rapids or Novi, MI office. As a key member of our municipal engineering team, you will be responsible for managing design and construction engineering efforts for a broad range of municipal projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop proposals, permits, project plans, and schedules.
  • Manage the design, development, and implementation of projects.
  • Represent clients at public meetings, perform contract negotiation and administration, and project budgeting.
  • Provide design direction for less experienced staff and assist in developing and providing technical mentorship.
  • Design of municipal public works and utility projects, construction contract administration, project management, and client contact.
  • Plan and design for water main, sanitary sewer, and road projects for local municipalities.
  • Perform design calculations, quantify bid items, develop cost estimates, budgeting, and prepare reports.
  • Work closely with marketing and technical staff to assist in proposal writing.
  • Interact daily with staff in a multi-office environment.
Requirements
  • Licensed PE (MI PE preferred or able to acquire via reciprocity within 6 months).
  • 10+ years of civil/municipal experience working with local governments.
  • Strong public presentation and solid written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience utilizing AutoCAD and Civil3D for bidding document preparation.
  • Previous project management and client liaison experience and a strong ambition to step into that role.
