Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Business Class Lead to join our team in Minneapolis, MN. As a key member of our Building Engineering Services Design Center, you will be responsible for leading a team of engineers and designers on complex architectural engineering projects across various market sectors, including Healthcare, Education, Science, Justice, and Technology.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain client relationships, participate in marketing and client development activities
  • Manage technical and operational activities of the electrical discipline
  • Prepare and review project budgets and scopes for the electrical discipline, track budget status
  • Schedule and coordinate all work performed within the discipline
  • Establish work priorities and project assignments for staff
  • Monitor scope of work and scope changes
  • Facilitate coordination with other discipline groups
  • Conduct interviews for new staff and provide mentoring
  • Establish employee goals and conduct performance reviews
  • Schedule and conduct section meetings to discuss productivity, workload, and quality control issues
  • Advance the skill level of personnel through training, education, and experience
  • Coordinate with electrical discipline managers of other business group locations to review workload, project status, and staffing requirements
  • Prepare and review electrical engineering scope of work and budgets/estimates for proposals
  • Monitor changes in codes, regulations, and client standards and keep staff up to date on current industry practices
  • Implement required changes into electrical design standards, procedures, and deliverables
  • Perform quality control reviews
  • Serve as a Project Manager occasionally and/or Task Lead when applicable
  • Perform project engineer duties when required
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a Professional, Architecture, Engineering, or closely related field
  • 10 years of experience
  • Committed to quality, improvement, and HDR values
  • Maintains a professional or engineering registration and has related technical experience
  • Experienced in development and management of diverse teams
  • Works cooperatively with other area business class leaders, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers on business class efforts
  • An attitude and commitment to being an active participant of our employee-owned culture is a must
