Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Service Manager to lead our team of technicians responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of heating and air conditioning systems in commercial settings. This critical role requires direct collaboration with service and installation technicians, dispatch staff, and other management personnel to ensure customer satisfaction and meet departmental goals. As a senior representative of the company, the Service Manager will regularly interact with customers, vendors, and suppliers to facilitate clear and timely communication regarding job statuses, project updates, and service improvements, reinforcing our commitment to excellence in HVAC service delivery.

Work Environment

This position offers a hybrid work model, with the home office based in a central location. Some travel to various sites will be necessary as required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Recruit, onboard, develop, and oversee the team of technicians in Florida.
  • Conduct performance evaluations, reviews, and establish improvement objectives for technicians.
  • Implement ongoing training and safety initiatives.
  • Supervise and guide technicians to effectively execute equipment repair, installation, start-up, and operational duties to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Provide technical support to technicians to meet service demands and customer expectations.
  • Review technicians' work to ensure compliance with quality standards and safety regulations; recommend enhancements to improve quality and productivity.
  • Facilitate group and individual meetings with technicians for training, evaluation, and communication; conduct regularly scheduled departmental safety/informational meetings.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and standard operating procedures by technicians.
  • Maintain regular communication with dispatch to ensure proper scheduling of personnel.
  • Coordinate with estimators to ensure scopes of work align with customer expectations.
  • Monitor service vehicles to ensure they are maintained in acceptable condition for efficient technician operations, ensuring adequate inventory of parts and materials.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications and Skills

  • High school diploma with additional post-secondary education from a college, trade school, or military experience (associate or bachelor's degree preferred).
  • HVAC certification (EPA 608).
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in HVAC installation, maintenance, and repair.
  • Demonstrated experience in a supervisory or management capacity within the HVAC sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of HVAC systems, components, and operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams, roof drawings, and submittals.
  • Familiarity with HVAC software and diagnostic tools.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills.
  • Excellent organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and ensure timely completion.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, along with strong conflict resolution abilities.
  • Proficient in handling customer escalations with professionalism.
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service and satisfaction.

  • Ability to work in various environments, including heights.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Willingness to work a non-standard schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays as required.
