• Safely transports patients to the surgical area under the guidance of a registered nurse.
• Assists in the positioning and transferring of patients as needed.
• Demonstrates understanding of sterile techniques.
• Collaborates with nursing staff regarding necessary instruments and supplies for effective patient care.
• Prepares and organizes materials and equipment for surgical procedures.
• Assists with room turnover efficiently.
• Conducts cleaning of equipment and supply areas according to infection control protocols.
• Maintains cleanliness and organization of all designated areas.
• Communicates effectively with central services to ensure timely supply availability.
• Restocks supplies in the operating room as directed.
• Assists in inventory management and maintains adequate supply levels.
• Reports any equipment or supply issues to the appropriate personnel.

Job Level Duties
• Entry-level position with minimal operating room experience. Responsibilities include cleaning, patient transport, and assisting with room turnover under supervision.
*High School diploma or equivalent experience in a relevant role is required.
Your Qualifications:
As a Surgical Support Specialist, you will be an integral part of the surgical team, working closely with a Registered Nurse. Your responsibilities will include assisting with departmental cleaning, preparing surgical carts, running errands, and supporting patient transport and room turnover.
What You Will Need:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- Prior experience in an operating room support role or training as a nursing assistant is preferred
