Job Title: Senior Process Safety Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Process Safety Specialist to join our team at BASF Corporation. As a key member of our Process Safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe design and operation of our chemical processing facilities.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide process safety expertise in the process hazard analysis (PHA) process for both capital projects and existing units.
  • Develop and implement process safety programs and culture to improve the safe operation of our chemical processing facilities.
  • Provide management of change support and incident investigation support as required.
  • Interfacing with external stakeholders such as regulatory agencies, trade associations, and non-governmental agencies to promote BASF philosophies and leverage benchmarking opportunities.
Requirements:
  • Technical Engineering or Science-related BS degree (or higher degree) required.
  • Strong expertise in regulatory and technical aspects of Process Safety Management (PSM) is required.
  • Must have at least 5+ years of experience in OSHA PSM, either as an EHS expert or with implementation of requirements.
  • Supervisory or management experience of team members.
  • Minimum 2 years of EHS experience in a chemical/manufacturing environment.
  • Must be a self-starter and demonstrate strong sense of initiative.
  • Strong computer skills (MS-Word, MS-Excel, MS-PowerPoint, and MS-Teams). STATUR experience preferred.
  • Previous PHA and BHA expertise.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong collaboration, teamwork, interpersonal relations, customer focus, influencing, and impact skills required.
