Electric Utility Operations Manager

PacifiCorp is seeking a customer-centric candidate to grow and sustain our commitment to a culture of customer service excellence, environmental sustainability, and diversity, equity, and inclusion.

The successful candidate will assist the manager of a geographic territory, region, location, or unit that has an impact on corporate, business unit, or organizational objectives. They will contribute to the establishment of strategies and plans and implement business objectives. The candidate will work with management to manage and allocate financial and employee resources. They will be responsible for selecting, coaching, and developing employees and responsible for management of employee salaries. The candidate will implement and support Company programs and policies.

Responsibilities:
  • Assist Metering Operations Manager in managing and allocating financial and employee resources in company's field customer service organization.
  • Supervise PacifiCorp Metermen, Meter Readers, Field Metering Specialists, or Collectors who install, maintain, test, read, and perform connects and disconnects of all electric metering equipment in assigned service territory.
  • Maintain a safe working environment for employees within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Ensure that customer guarantees are met, commission required testing is completed on an annual basis, meters are read accurately, safely, and timely in order to meet billing deadlines.
  • Interface with other organizations within Power Delivery and act as a field liaison between customers and company.
  • Ensure that debt reduction efforts are enforced and maintained at acceptable levels in assigned areas.
  • Work in conjunction with other Field Operations Managers to effect a smooth and seamless operation between work groups and for the benefit of PacifiCorp Customers.
Requirements


High School diploma or GED; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

A minimum of two years' experience in Operations, Power Delivery, Customer Service, Metering, or Field Service Organizations or equivalent work experience.

Ability to influence customers and employees' actions toward meeting customer requirements and toward customer service guarantees.

Communication and interpersonal skills to communicate expectations, coach employees, provide feedback, and work collaboratively with other departments.

Valid driver's license and willing to travel as needed

Must live within 50 miles of the Ogden, Utah area

  • Related College Degree (Business - Management, Administration, or Human Resources)
  • Experience supervising/managing union employees
  • Metering and/or Field related experience in the electrical industry
