Job Title: Clinical Therapist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Therapist to join our team at The Children's Center of Hamden Inc.

Job Summary:

The Clinical Therapist will be responsible for providing clinical services and case management within the context of a treatment team for children and families served by our organization.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide Effective Therapy: Provide individual, group, and family therapy that is consistent with evidence-based models, such as A-CRA.
  • Participate in Coaching Calls: Participate in coaching calls with model developers and adhere to all requirements pertaining to model fidelity.
  • Complete Assessments: Complete necessary assessments, such as GAIN and PIE, to provide data to DCF.
  • Arrange for Specialized Testing: Arrange for psychiatric, psychological, and other specialized testing and evaluation.
  • Coordinate Diagnostic Conferences: Coordinate and contribute to diagnostic, case review, and provider conferences.
  • Maintain Regular Contact: Maintain regular contact with internal members of the treatment team regarding clinical issues and interdepartmentally regarding changes in status.
  • Ensure Legal Rights are Protected: Ensure that legal rights of children are protected, and incidents of abuse or neglect are reported to DCF.
  • Review Intake Material: Review intake material and provide evaluations as assigned.
  • Maintain Records: Maintain records for admissions, case reviews, progress reports, and discharge summaries.
  • Facilitate Master Treatment Plans: Facilitate the Master Treatment Plan process with clients and update as required.
  • Demonstrate Cultural Sensitivity: Demonstrate sensitivity and awareness regarding cultural diversity as it relates to the client population.
  • Flexible Schedule: Will be able to maintain a flexible schedule, which includes travel between locations.
Requirements:
  • Bilingual: Bilingual in English and Spanish, required.
  • Licensure: LMSW, LCSW, LPC, LMFT preferred with CT State licensure.
  • Therapeutic Skills: Ability to engage clients in a therapeutic relationship in individual, family, and group modalities of treatment.
  • Knowledge of Child Development: Knowledge of child development.
  • Communication Skills: Good verbal and written communication skills.
  • Training in Mental Health Treatment: Training in mental health treatment, child psychopathology, and developmental psychology.
