Eliot Community Human Services is seeking a skilled Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in the Early Intervention Program. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in Speech Pathology and be fluent in a second language.

The Speech and Language Therapist will work with children from birth to three years of age who may have or be at risk of having a delay in development. The therapist will assess the child's needs and work with the family to maximize skill acquisition, facilitating optimal growth in the areas of cognitive, language, motor, and social development.

The Speech and Language Therapist will be responsible for identifying, screening, and evaluating the performance of children in the areas of interpersonal communication, speech production, receptive and expressive language, cognitive bases of language acquisition, and augmentative communication modes.

The ideal candidate will have experience in infancy and early childhood, familiarity with total communication, feeding assessment, and treatment. They will also have advanced clinical skills, administrative tasks, and communication skills.

The Speech and Language Therapist will work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide transdisciplinary services to families and children enrolled in the Early Intervention Program. They will develop and ensure follow-up to treatment goals in the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) in the home.

The Speech and Language Therapist will also provide in-service training to other team members within areas of expertise and provide assessment/reports, IFSPs, progress notes, and insurance verification reports within established timelines.

Responsibilities:

  • Identify, screen, and evaluate the performance of children in the areas of interpersonal communication, speech production, receptive and expressive language, cognitive bases of language acquisition, and augmentative communication modes.
  • Plan and implement remediation programs for children with communication disorders.
  • Provide transdisciplinary services to families and children enrolled in the Early Intervention Program.
  • Develop and ensure follow-up to treatment goals in the Individual Family Service Plan (IFSP) in the home.
  • Provide in-service training to other team members within areas of expertise.
  • Provide assessment/reports, IFSPs, progress notes, and insurance verification reports within established timelines.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Speech Pathology.
  • Fluency in a second language.
  • Experience in infancy and early childhood.
  • Familiarity with total communication, feeding assessment, and treatment.
  • Advanced clinical skills, administrative tasks, and communication skills.

Hourly Rate: $60.00 USD, 6% increase if bilingual in a needed language.
