Once Upon a Childcare is seeking an Infant Teacher to contribute to our educational environment.

Compensation: Starting pay ranges from $16.00 to $20.00, depending on qualifications and experience. Continuous pay increases are provided based on adherence to program standards and performance metrics. We are committed to fostering the growth of our teaching staff and offer numerous opportunities for career progression.

Requirements prior to employment: A qualifying letter, a recent tuberculosis test, and a physical examination.

Additional Benefits:

  • Employees earn Personal Time Off (PTO) at a rate of 3.8 hours for every 40 hours worked, with unused hours rolling over to the next year.
  • Sick leave accrues at 2.6 hours for every 40 hours worked, with a maximum of 48 hours available for illness-related absences each calendar year.
  • Holiday pay is calculated based on average hours worked and is granted after a 60-day probationary period.
  • A $100 monthly bonus is awarded for perfect attendance.
  • Paid day off for birthdays.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create engaging and imaginative lesson plans tailored for children aged 12-24 months.
  • Utilize diverse educational methods (such as storytelling and interactive play) to facilitate learning.
  • Monitor each child's development to enhance their social skills and self-esteem.
  • Encourage peer interaction and assist in conflict resolution.
  • Guide children in developing their artistic and practical skills through a structured curriculum (including shapes, numbers, colors, and art).
  • Document children's progress and communicate findings to parents.
  • Maintain regular communication with parents to understand each child's background and emotional needs.
  • Collaborate effectively with fellow educators.
  • Ensure a clean and safe classroom environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.

Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in a licensed childcare setting.
  • Possession of a qualifying letter (required before starting).
  • Recent TB test and physical examination.
  • Knowledge of safety and sanitation practices for educational settings.
  • Strong communication and teaching abilities.
  • Capable of mediating disputes among children.
  • Friendly, patient, and dependable demeanor.
  • Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain certification.
