Hiring a Senior Mechanical Engineer at Helion Energy means joining a dynamic team of innovators who are pushing the boundaries of fusion power technology. As a key contributor to our engineering team, you will have the opportunity to design and develop cutting-edge hardware for our fusion generator prototypes.

With a focus on multidisciplinary engineering problems, you will own and understand subsystem designs, including electromagnetic, structural, fluid, thermal, and control systems. Our team works collaboratively to improve requirements, learn from historical engineering approaches, design novel hardware, and test solutions.

In this role, you will also have the chance to work hands-on with experienced technicians to implement your designs, troubleshoot issues on integrated fusion generators, and contribute to the development of our fusion system.

To succeed, you will need a Bachelor's degree in engineering and 8+ years of experience delivering full-scope engineering projects, including schedule ownership. Advanced experience with CAD software (e.g., NX, Solidworks) and moderate experience with FEA software (e.g., ANSYS Maxwell, FEMAP) are essential. Familiarity with GD&T and generating engineering drawings per ASME Y14.5 is also beneficial.

Our competitive compensation package includes an annual base pay of $147,000-$190,000 USD, comprehensive benefits, and equity grants, ensuring you have a stake in Helion's success.
