Job Description

This role involves leading the system design, integration, and performance characterization of IonQ's next-generation trapped-ion quantum computers and the associated quantum networking infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Lead the design and development of quantum networking architecture to interconnect quantum computers.
  2. Develop subsystems for trapped-ion quantum computers.
  3. Define requirements and specifications for software and control systems.
  4. Measure and analyze data on the performance of a trapped ion quantum computer.
  5. Mentor physicists and engineers in taking assembled hardware from the initial stages of ion trapping to coherent gate operations.
Requirements
  • PhD in Physics or Electrical Engineering with a specialization in AMO physics or quantum information.
  • 5+ years post-PhD experience working in industry or national labs.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

Estimated Salary Range

The estimated annual salary range for this position is $128,119 to $167,740.
