Pediatric Radiologic Technologist Part-Time Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our young patients.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic radiological exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Verify patient identity and review medical records to ensure appropriateness of exams or procedures.
- Interview patients to obtain, verify, or update medical history and assess risk factors.
- Explain procedures to patients, including potential side effects, risks, benefits, and alternatives.
- Set up equipment and acquire images as per script, reviewing and documenting exceptions from established protocols.
- Recognize and respond to medical emergencies as needed.
- Provide post-care instructions to patients and participate in process improvement activities within the radiology practice.
- Collaborate with residents, student technologists, and new employees to provide imaging education and support.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R).
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training required.
- Strong analytical and clinical skills, with ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with ability to instruct patients and work with various hospital personnel.
- Technical knowledge of imaging equipment and computers, with ability to operate and troubleshoot as needed.
- Ability to work productively and effectively in a complex environment, handling multiple priorities and changing situations.
