Pediatric Radiologic Technologist Part-Time Opportunity

We are seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our team at DMC Children's Hospital of Michigan. As a key member of our diagnostic imaging department, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality care to our young patients.
Responsibilities- Perform diagnostic radiological exams utilizing appropriate imaging equipment, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Verify patient identity and review medical records for exam appropriateness, utilizing analytical and clinical skills to determine the most effective imaging approach.
- Interview patients to obtain medical history, assess risk factors, and explain procedures, including potential side effects and benefits.
- Set up equipment, acquire images, and review results, making initial observations and documenting exceptions from established protocols.
- Communicate data to radiologists, recognize medical emergencies, and provide post-care instructions to patients.
- Participate in process improvement activities, including quality of care, patient flow, and patient satisfaction initiatives.
- Provide imaging education to residents, student technologists, and new employees, demonstrating expertise and leadership skills.
- Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) in Radiography (R).
- American Heart Association (AHA) Basic Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BLS) training required.
- Strong analytical and clinical skills, with ability to work effectively in a culturally diverse atmosphere.
- Technical knowledge of imaging equipment and ability to operate computers.
- Physical stamina for frequent walking, standing, lifting, and positioning of patients.
