Job Overview

Position: Accounting Specialist

LHH Recruitment Solutions is in search of skilled Accounting Specialists for a client within the financial sector. This role offers a Contract to Hire opportunity, with a standard workweek from Monday to Friday, 8 AM – 5 PM, allowing for flexible start times.

As an Accounting Specialist, you will be integral in upholding the financial integrity of the organization. Your responsibilities will include meticulous management of financial records, ensuring precise documentation of financial transactions, and collaborating with the finance team to analyze financial data for informed decision-making.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee accounts receivable and payable by accurately processing invoices, payments, and bills, ensuring timely transactions.
  • Maintain and reconcile the general ledger to guarantee all financial activities are properly recorded and classified.
  • Regularly verify bank statements against financial records, addressing any discrepancies that arise.
  • Monitor and categorize company expenditures, ensuring adherence to corporate policies and generating periodic expense reports.
  • Prepare comprehensive financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements, to provide management with essential insights.
  • Assist in the organization of financial data for tax submissions and audits, collaborating with external accountants as necessary.
  • Deliver financial analysis and insights to aid in strategic decision-making and budgeting processes.
  • Maintain well-organized financial records for auditing and reference purposes.
  • Engage in professional communication with vendors and clients regarding financial matters, including invoicing and payments.
  • Support various financial projects as needed to fulfill the objectives of the finance team.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management capabilities.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Educational Background:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline is preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience as an accounting professional or in a similar financial role.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and financial practices.
