Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Pediatric Intensive Care Unit Nurse to join our team at Actalent. As a PICU Nurse, you will provide specialized nursing care to critically ill pediatric patients in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Patient Monitoring: Continuously monitor patients' vital signs, including heart rate, blood pressure, respiratory rate, and oxygen saturation.
- Medication Administration: Administer medications accurately and safely, ensuring proper dosing based on the child's age and weight.
- Medical Procedures: Assist physicians with various medical procedures such as inserting intravenous lines, chest tube placements, and urinary catheterizations.
- Life-Support Management: Operate and monitor advanced life-support equipment, including ventilators and cardiac monitors.
- Family Support: Provide emotional support and clear communication to patients' families, involving them in the care process.
- Collaboration: Work closely with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to develop and implement comprehensive treatment plans.
- Emergency Response: Respond rapidly to emergencies, delivering immediate interventions to stabilize patients.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Licensure: Current Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Certifications: Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Basic Life Support (BLS), and Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certifications required.
- Experience: Minimum of 1.5 years of experience in a pediatric intensive care setting.
- Skills: Proficiency in EPIC, hemodynamic monitoring, EKG interpretation, insulin administration, IV management, procedural sedation, and ventilator management.
