Compensation: $33.71 per hour

Key Responsibilities and Duties:
Patient Access:
- Deliver outstanding customer service to assist patients effectively.
- Accurately gather demographic and insurance information, verify employment details, and maintain updated insurance profiles.
- Process adjustments as necessary.
- Clarify explanations of benefits and billing statements to patients from various payers, including Medicare.
- Accept payments from patients in various forms and ensure proper documentation for account postings.
- Conduct financial assessments with self-pay patients to evaluate their payment capabilities and record findings in the patient account system.
- Provide patients with applications for charity care and structured payment agreements.
- Engage with insurance providers to confirm eligibility, assess benefit coverage, and document all communications and updates in patient records.
- Collaborate with patient financial services and revenue integrity teams to generate cost estimates as requested.
- Reach out to patients or their family members to provide service quotes based on insurance benefits and collect necessary deposits.
- Adhere to Payment and Collection Policy guidelines for deposit collection.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- This role does not involve supervisory responsibilities.
Education and Certifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of CHAA certification within two years is mandatory.
- A minimum of five years in administrative and customer service roles.
- At least two years of experience in revenue cycle management, including scheduling, registration, health information management, coding, billing, or collections; or demonstrated proficiency in screening patients for insurance and alternative resources.
- Familiarity with administrative and clerical tasks, including word processing, file management, office procedures, and computer software.
- Self-motivated with a commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Exceptional customer service abilities, particularly in challenging situations.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Effective time management and organizational skills.
- Proactive in seeking ways to assist others.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of engaging professionally with individuals from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and demonstrate problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to read and understand instructions, correspondence, and memos.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Familiarity with other SEARHC-provided software applications.
