Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Pediatric Speech Therapist to join our team in Glendale, AZ. As a key member of our staff, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of students with communication disorders.


Salary and Benefits

The salary for this position is up to $71/hour, based on 24 hours worked per week, equating to up to $1,704/week. The possibility of working more hours is available.

Job Responsibilities
  • Screening and Evaluation: Conduct thorough assessments to identify students' communication needs and develop personalized plans to address these challenges.
  • Develop and Implement IEPs: Create and implement individualized educational programs (IEPs) for each student, tailored to their unique needs and goals.
  • Team Collaboration: Participate in Child Study Teams, Multidisciplinary evaluation and IEP teams, and assist in screenings for potential problems.
  • Maintenance of Records: Accurately maintain attendance and hourly contact records, as well as observation, screening, evaluation, and consultation reports.
  • Evaluation Reports and Goals: Write comprehensive evaluation reports, goals, and objectives for students receiving speech therapy services.
  • Student List and Meeting Schedules: Maintain up-to-date lists of students, IEP review dates, and scheduled meetings, as well as current copies of students' goals and objectives.
  • Effective Working Relationships: Foster strong working relationships with other special education personnel, regular education personnel, and parents.
  • Direct Services: Provide direct services to students according to a schedule developed collaboratively with the MET team.
  • State and District Guidelines: Ensure delivery of appropriate services by following state and district guidelines.
  • Professionalism and Best Practices: Demonstrate the level of professionalism expected of a Speech Language Therapist and employee, while adhering to best practices in service delivery.

Qualifications
  • A Master's degree in Speech and Language Therapy
  • A valid Arizona certification
  • ASHA certification preferred
  • Experience in language development for non-native English speakers
  • Familiarity with augmentative communication devices and instructing students in their use
