Position Overview

LSS New Beginnings Center is in search of empathetic and dedicated individuals to support youth in protective care. This role is vital for those who are passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of young individuals in need.

Available Shifts:
  • Part-time: Day shifts, Tuesday through Friday
  • Part-time: Evening shifts, Wednesday through Saturday
  • Full-time: Primarily Evening shifts, with one day shift, Thursday through Monday

Compensation:

Starting wage ranges from $16 to $18 per hour, based on education and experience.

Key Responsibilities:

As a Youth Support Specialist, you will:

  • Provide supervision and assistance to youth in group care settings.
  • Deliver direct client care while maintaining appropriate boundaries.
  • Teach essential coping and problem-solving skills.
  • Complete necessary reports and documentation.
Qualifications:

For the Youth Support Specialist role, a Bachelor's degree in a behavioral or social science field is preferred. Alternatively, post-secondary education combined with at least one year of experience working with children will be considered. A high school diploma or GED is preferred for the Youth Worker position, along with relevant experience.

Applicants must be at least 21 years old and capable of completing orientation training as per agency standards. Successful completion of all agency background checks is required, including checks for criminal convictions related to child safety, spousal abuse, and drug or sex offenses. A valid driver's license and the ability to achieve approved driver status are also necessary.
