Diesel Mechanic/Technician

We are seeking a skilled Diesel Mechanic/Technician to join our team at Ryder, a leading provider of transportation and logistics solutions. As a Diesel Mechanic/Technician, you will be responsible for performing vehicle maintenance and repair duties, ensuring the safe and efficient operation of our heavy-duty vehicles.
Key Responsibilities- Perform routine preventative maintenance, including oil changes, brake and tire work
- Diagnose and repair mechanical and electronic problems, utilizing diagnostic computer systems
- Replace defective components as instructed
- Perform facility maintenance duties, including cleaning and organization of the shop
- Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints and assign tasks
- Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
- Work in accordance with all federal and corporate compliance guidelines, including safety and DOT regulations
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred
- Vocational or technical certification, post-secondary degree, or technical certifications preferred
- Basic tools required
- Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines
- Valid Commercial Driver License (CDL) Class A preferred
- Ability to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
- Competitive hourly pay: $27.00 per hour
- Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification obtained, up to $700
- Quarterly bonus: Ryder pays up to $500 every quarter, four times per year
- Sign-on bonus: Ryder pays $1,250 at 30 days and $1,250 at 90 days
- Annual merit pay increases every year
