Job Title: Lead Engineer - Distribution Planning

At Iberdrola, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Lead Engineer - Distribution Planning to join our team. As a key member of our distribution planning team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safe and reliable delivery of electricity to our customers.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement distribution planning strategies.
  • Analyze and assess complex distribution system interconnections and new customer load interconnections.
  • Apply established distribution criteria and sound utility engineering practices to identify deficiencies in the distribution system.
  • Develop and recommend distribution automation devices and designs compliant with program objectives.
  • Continuously strive to innovate and integrate improvements to increase the precision and efficiency of distribution planning.
  • Develop a thorough understanding and application of distribution planning tools used in day-to-day operations.
  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Collaborate and interact with internal teams and industry peers on regional and divisional activities.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in distribution planning or related field.
  • Advanced degree or certifications (e.g. MSEE, PE) a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of power system studies, software proficiency, and leadership competencies.
