About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Business Systems Analyst to join our team at the Johns Hopkins Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). As a key member of our Applications Services Group, you will play a critical role in aligning technology with business objectives and driving innovation in our procure-to-pay (P2P) processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with multi-functional teams to understand business needs and develop innovative designs that satisfy those needs.
  • Partner closely with business stakeholders, including procurement and finance, to collect business requirements and crosswalk those requirements to functional and technical requirements.
  • Perform analysis of existing P2P processes and applications, identifying inefficiencies, gaps, and areas of improvement, and providing recommendations from best industry practices.
  • Develop comprehensive documentation, including process flows, training guides, functional specifications, and future-state business process and application design documents.
  • Facilitate design and requirement workshops to gather input and feedback.
  • Manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Drive innovation by identifying emerging technologies and methodologies that enhance our systems and processes.
  • Conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure smooth adoption of new processes and systems.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for P2P processes.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business, Information Systems, or a related field (advanced degree preferred).
  • 8+ years of experience in P2P process with a proven track record in delivering P2P IT solutions.
  • Experience with financial enterprise resource planning (ERP) applications, preferably Oracle EBS.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and guide teams toward a shared vision.
  • Exceptional communication skills to convey complex technical information to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Proficient in data analysis and querying, with strong SQL experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 8+ years of experience configuring and troubleshooting for Oracle EBS Purchasing.
  • Experience as a P2P functional lead of an ERP implementation project.
  • Experience as a power user in Power BI or Alteryx.
  • Prior experience as a consultant or working for large, Federal direct- and grant-funded research organizations.
  • Certified/trained in Agile Project Delivery and/or Business Analysis.
