Role Summary:

As a Receiving Associate, also referred to as a Back of House Associate, your primary responsibility will be to oversee the merchandise flow into our retail locations. You will collaborate with a team to ensure that products are received, processed, and made available for sale efficiently and promptly, while also maintaining the organization of merchandise in both the store and stockroom.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Customer Service: Welcome customers, address inquiries, and provide assistance in a courteous and professional manner, ensuring a positive shopping experience by resolving concerns promptly.
  • Receiving and Unloading: Manage the receipt and unloading of merchandise from delivery vehicles; unpack items from vendor packaging; and dispose of plastic bags and packaging materials.
  • Sorting and Organizing: Categorize and arrange merchandise by type, size, or category. Ensure proper labeling and tagging for easy identification and retrieval, while keeping the receiving area orderly.
  • Processing and Signing: Execute all receiving and processing tasks in line with productivity standards, timelines, and inventory control procedures. Ensure promotional signage is accurate and current.
  • Stockroom Management: Move merchandise from the receiving area to the stockroom or sales floor and assist the Merchandise Team with the relocation of fixtures and products for new placements, seasonal changes, and clearance setups.
  • Picking and Packing: Select items from the sales floor and apply packing protocols to guarantee that every customer receives their order in excellent condition; handle returns and abandoned in-store pickup orders.
  • Customer Pick-Up: Retrieve orders from back-of-house storage and deliver them curbside; monitor alerts to ensure timely completion of Buy Online Pickup In-Store (BOPS) orders.
  • Team Collaboration: Partner with colleagues to achieve departmental objectives and maintain a positive work atmosphere. Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors, sharing feedback and ideas.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods (at least two consecutive hours) throughout the store or department.
  • Frequent use of computers and handheld electronic devices.
  • Reaching, including above eye level, crouching, kneeling, stooping, climbing ladders, and color vision.
  • Ability to lift and move items weighing up to 50 lbs.
