About the Company

The Sherwin-Williams Company is a leading manufacturer of coatings and paints. As a co-op packaging development engineer, you will work with our cross-functional teams to develop and implement packaging projects that meet customer requirements.

Job Description

This co-op position begins in June 2025 and runs through December. You will report to our Cleveland, Ohio headquarters and have access to confidential and proprietary information.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement packaging projects with Marketing, Purchasing, Manufacturing, Distribution, and outside suppliers.
  • Conduct package and material tests, analyze data, and write reports for Division Package Engineering.
  • Perform lab housekeeping duties.
  • Create, revise, and publish package specifications.
  • Create, revise, and publish testing procedures.

Requirements

  • You must be at least 18 years old.
  • You must be legally authorized to work in the country where you are applying for employment.
  • You must be currently enrolled in a packaging-related degree program and actively working toward a Bachelor's degree.
  • You must have sophomore, junior, or senior class standing at the time of co-op.
  • You must have a minimum overall GPA of 2.8.

Preferred Qualifications

  • You should have at least one year of experience using Microsoft Office products (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, and/or Outlook).
  • You should have demonstrated ability to meet deadlines and prioritize tasks.
  • You should have working knowledge of packaging materials such as plastics, paper, metal, etc.
  • You should have working knowledge of palletization software such as TOPS, CAPE, etc.

Salary and Benefits

Estimated salary: $65,000 - $75,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. The company offers a comprehensive benefits package, including health insurance, retirement savings plan, and paid time off.
