Position Summary:
The Receptionist for Neurosurgery plays a crucial role in providing exceptional service by welcoming and assisting patients and visitors. This position serves as a vital link between patients and the medical team, ensuring a seamless experience.

Reporting Structure:
This position reports directly to the Practice Manager.

Key Responsibilities:
As a Receptionist, your essential duties will include:

1. Welcoming patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, preparing necessary information for their appointments.
2. Managing appointment scheduling, including cancellations and rescheduling, while effectively utilizing the waitlist for optimal patient flow.
3. Providing excellent customer service through telephone interactions and in-person encounters.
4. Operating standard office equipment efficiently.
5. Ensuring accurate billing and verifying patient information during each interaction.
6. Initiating required waivers for services not covered by insurance and confirming referrals as necessary.
7. Collecting co-pays and payments, issuing receipts, and explaining payment policies to patients.
8. Maintaining proficiency in cash handling and basic mathematical functions.
9. Holding a current Basic Life Support (CPR) certification.
10. Performing additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:

• Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
• Typing proficiency of at least 35 words per minute.
• Basic computer literacy.

Desired:

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• One year of experience in a medical office environment.
• Familiarity with medical terminology is a plus.
