Child Welfare Specialist

This position is located in Wagoner, Oklahoma, and is part of the Oklahoma Human Services team.
We are seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Child Welfare Specialist to join our team. As a Child Welfare Specialist, you will have the opportunity to positively impact the safety and well-being of children and families in our community.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate allegations of child abuse or neglect and provide services to help families overcome barriers that put their children at risk.
- Preserve and strengthen protective capacities of parents to keep children safe in their own homes.
- Provide placements for children that meet their medical, educational, and physical needs.
- Return children to their homes as soon as possible and arrange permanent plans when return is not possible.
Requirements:
- Completion of 90 hours from an accredited college or university, or 3 years of experience related to child welfare work, or a combination of education and experience.
- A bachelor's degree (in any field) to qualify, or one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
- A Master's degree, or a bachelor's degree plus one year of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist, or two years of experience as a Child Welfare Specialist.
Benefits:
- Annual salary ranging from $37,280.75 to $43,968.62, depending on level.
- Full state employee benefits.
- Opportunity for a 5% salary incentive for Master's degree holders.
- On-call positions receive an additional bonus ranging from $100 to $150 every two weeks.
Travel is extensive, and a valid driver's license is required. State vehicles are available for use.
