About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Reliability Specialist to join our team at Koch Industries. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for ensuring the integrity and reliability of our electrical infrastructure and equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain and improve the reliability of electrical installations, systems, and equipment across our facilities.
  • Develop and implement engineering solutions to address repetitive failures and other issues.
  • Track and analyze performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and update asset strategies for electrical equipment and infrastructure.
  • Identify and implement innovative technologies to prevent common failure modes.
  • Lead or support root cause analysis investigations and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide electrical engineering support for maintenance and operations teams.
  • Interface with vendors to ensure compliance with our reliability and design standards.
  • Support long-term asset advancement teams in developing engineering solutions to address unit/electrical infrastructure risk and/or investment project opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering, electronics, or a related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in electrical engineering, reliability, design, maintenance, construction, or a combination of the four.
  • Experience in refinery, chemical plants, engineering design consultancy, or manufacturing.
Preferred Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering in a refinery or manufacturing environment.
  • Knowledge of relay coordination, arc flash hazard, and short circuit analysis.
  • Formal root cause analysis training.
  • Previous experience working with high, medium, and low voltage power distribution equipment.
  • Knowledge of electric motors and motor controls, electrical protection schemes, and compliance and engineering standards.
  • Electrical troubleshooting experience.
