Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cardiovascular Sonographer to join our team at WVU Medicine. As a key member of our Heart and Vascular Institute, you will be responsible for performing a wide range of diagnostic ultrasound imaging and therapeutic services to support the diagnosis and treatment of patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Perform diagnostic ultrasound imaging and therapeutic services to support the diagnosis and treatment of patients.
  • Conduct patient assessments and develop imaging plans to ensure optimal image quality and patient care.
  • Operate and maintain ultrasound equipment, ensuring proper function and safety.
  • Collaborate with healthcare teams to provide comprehensive patient care and support.
  • Participate in quality assurance and quality improvement initiatives to ensure high-quality patient care.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest imaging technologies and techniques to provide the best possible care for patients.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent, or graduate of an accredited medical sonography program.
  • Certification in two of the following: Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS), Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS), Registered Congenital Cardiac Sonographer (RCCS), Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT), or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS).
  • Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
  • Five years of experience in cardiac and vascular sonography.
