Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Registered Nurse to join our team in the Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit (PICU) at UCLA Health Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center. This is a travel/contract position that requires a strong background in pediatric critical care and a passion for delivering exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality patient care to critically ill pediatric patients in the PICU
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans
  • Monitor and manage patient vital signs, medication, and treatment plans
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams to ensure seamless care transitions
  • Participate in unit-based quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes and satisfaction
Requirements
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) degree
  • Active California RN license without temporary license
  • Current AHA BLS and PALS certifications
  • Minimum 2 years of PICU experience in a level 1 trauma hospital
  • Minimum 2 years of CVPICU experience
  • Willingness to float to the pediatric ICU
Work Schedule
  • 3x12 - Day/Night rotation
  • Day shift: 07:00 - 19:30; Night shift: 19:00 - 07:30
  • 4-5 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
  • Weekends for day shift include Saturday/Sunday; weekends for night shift include Friday/Saturday
Unit Specific Information
  • This position is specific to the Pediatrics Intensive Care Unit (PICU)
  • Due to the nature of the unit, candidates are expected to have significant experience in pediatric critical care
Additional Requirements
  • Navy blue scrubs are required
