Job Summary

The Facilities Specialist is a critical role at Cooper Steel Inc. responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities. This position requires a strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Promote a strong quality culture throughout the company, maintaining Cooper Steel's core priorities: Safety, Quality, Production.
  2. Manage and assist in special projects, including office remodels and repairs, parking lot additions, and other facility-related tasks.
  3. Manage the Facility Grounds program, including landscaping, irrigation, mowing, weed-eating, spraying, and other related tasks.
  4. Manage Facility Service Contracts, ensuring timely and effective maintenance of our facilities.
  5. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • 1-3 years of experience in a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor's Degree - Preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office software (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Projects, etc.).
  • Ability to read and understand construction drawings - Preferred.

Work Environment

The position is in an office setting, with occasional work required in the Shop/Yard. The office setting involves everyday risks or discomforts that require normal safety precautions. However, there may be limited work required in the Shop/Yard that will change the work environment to include jobsite conditions, such as varying terrain, weather conditions, use of personal protective equipment, machine/equipment use, climbing, and lifting.
